Peter De Montbrun
Peter de Montbrun, stalwart of the local rugby community has passed away. He played rugby for the Trinidad Northern Rugby Football Club (TNRFC) for over twenty (20) years in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
Mr. de Montbrun then became a very proficient referee and was one of the founding members of the Trinidad and Tobago Rugby Referees Society (TTRRS). He was very knowledgeable in the rules of the game and sometimes during his refereeing, he would do some coaching and advising to players who found themselves on the wrong side of his wisdom.
He was also head of the Scalextric Society of Trinidad and Tobago for many years. He would leave his competition venues at various malls and head straight to the Queen’s Park Savannah to referee a rugby game.
The rugby fraternity mourns his loss and extend deepest condolences towards the TNRFC and his family.
