Caribs RFC Loses Headquarters
The Trinidad and Tobago Rugby Football Union (TTRFU) regrets the destruction of the Caribs Rugby Football Club Headquarters by fire on the morning of Wednesday, March 22, 2017.
Caribs RFC, one of the oldest rugby clubs in Trinidad and Tobago has been in existence since 1930 and has shared their clubhouse on Zoo Road, Port-of-Spain with the Girl Guides Association of Trinidad and Tobago for over 30 years.
The clubhouse has served as the virtual headquarters of the TTRFU for many a year as the National Teams would have used the equipment of the club and sometimes even it's playing kit.
President of the TTRFU, Mr. Leslie Figaro, said it was a sad day in the sport's history when a monument such as this was destroyed by fire.
The local fraternity sympathizes with the Caribs RFC family and is standing ready to assist in any way possible.
We wish the Caribs community a speedy recovery from this disaster and all the best in the future.
