The Trinidad & Tobago Rugby Football Union (TTRFU) wish to extend praises to the print and electronic media of Trinidad & Tobago for their support during 2019.
At the final TTRFU Executive Committee Meeting on December 19, 2019, President, Colin Peters, indicated that the Executive acknowledged the interest shown by the media in the operations of the Union. He reiterated that it was indicative that the media realize the importance of rugby as a sport and appreciate that it is going to be the next major sport in the world.
He continued, that something has been done right when the media requests results and standings of the weekly local rugby fixtures.
The Executive also praised the efforts of the Fixtures Committee, under local rugby legend, Anthony Loregnard and Anthony Pontiflette, President of the Trinidad & Tobago Rugby Referees Society, despite limited resources.
The Clubs and the Players must also be commended for their efforts during the year, and by extension the employers who would have granted time off to players, without loss of status and earnings, to enable them to represent the Trinidad & Tobago National Rugby Teams at both international and regional competitions.
However, Mr. Peters stated that he would like Corporate Trinidad & Tobago to recognize the attributes of rugby and step in to make a greater contribution.
The TTRFU hereby extend to Trinidad & Tobago, a very Merry Christmas & a bright and prosperous Rugby 2020.
