Trinidad & Tobago Senior Men’s National Sevens Rugby Team is set to go up against neighbours, Venezuela in their first match of the Rugby Sevens Competition at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Barranquilla, Colombia tomorrow, August 1, 2018.
Trinidad & Tobago, who defeated Venezuela for third place at the 2014 CAC Games in Mexico, is heading into this match with a psychological advantage and hope that it results in a great performance on the field.
Manager, Curtis Nero, said that the team arrived safely at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2018, and have settled in well. The athletes trained on Monday (July 30) and Tuesday (July 31), in preparation for the tournament and is again expected to mount the podium at the end of the competition.
The National Team is also scheduled to go up against Caribbean arch rivals, Jamaica and Guatemala in the competition tomorrow. Trinidad & Tobago is expected to top this group.
