Uruguay defeated Brazil 27-18 in Sao Paulo on Saturday to record their 13th-straight test victory and consolidate their place at the top of the Americas Rugby Championship.
Los Teros, who were returning to ARC action after qualifying for Rugby World Cup 2019, had to come from behind in the second half against a lively Brazil team to secure four match points.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Argentina XV face Chile at the Estadio AgustÃn Pichot in Ushuaia (17:40 local time, 20:40 GMT) and USA host Canada in Sacramento (15:10 local time, 23:10 GMT).
Defending champions USA are second in the table having won their opening match against Argentina XV, but in a tight game, failed to secure a bonus point to match Uruguay. They will meet a Canada team determined to bounce back after consecutive losses to Uruguay and a big 52-16 defeat against USA the last time the two teams met in the Rugby World Cup 2019 qualifiers last year.
Chile face tough opposition away to a young and talented Argentina XV. Chile finished bottom in both 2016 and 2017, but have already shown that they have improved with exposure to regular, high-intensity international rugby.
